Responsible for coordinating supply expense management initiatives and targets utilizing the value analysis process. Works in collaboration with Nursing Value Analysis Team, Surgical Products Value Analysis Team, clinical staff and Materials Management to achieve cost savings by focusing on appropriate supply standardization, utilization, and process improvements to seek high quality and cost effective products and services with maximum supply investment value. Provides leadership and clinical and strategic expertise to facilitate expense management via a research-based analysis process. Interacts with individuals at all levels of Carilion Clinic including physicians, allied health professionals, administrators, finance department staff, vendor representatives and other individuals internal and external to Carilion Clinic. Works to promote compliance with Group Purchasing Organization wherever possible.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Business, Finance or Health Administration required. Master’s degree in hospital or business administration, finance or closely related clinical discipline, preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years related clinical experience that demonstrates:
Analytical and problem solving skills
Clear, effective communication skills
Knowledge of medical supplies, supply utilization and supply standardization using value analysis process
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to chair value analysis teams and answer detail cost and product related questions
OR experience preferred
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
Other minimum qualifications: Effective management skills including time management, communications, human relations, presentation and organizational skills. Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to conduct in depth product presentations in a variety of settings. Computer-literate in office-based applications. Administratively self-sufficient. Professional appearance and presentation required.
