Helping patients regain their strength and return to their daily routines calls for a touch of inspiration, professional expertise, and the tools to build a personalized rehabilitation plan. The Physical Therapist confirms and interprets physician referrals, performs patient assessments and plans and implements individualized treatment programs taking into account the patient’s developmental and/or chronological age and medical diagnoses in accordance with the regulations governing the principles and practice of Physical Therapy, and will supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) as provided by State of Virginia licensure/practice standards and Federal regulations, and assist in the orientation of new employees, and may provide guidance to volunteers, students, and others.

Education: Graduate of approved school of Physical Therapy. Bachelor's degree as Physical Therapist and 5 years of experience, OR Master's or Doctorate degree required.
Experience: Experience in site specific level of care preferred but not required. For Home Health positions one year of clinical experience required.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
Other: Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required. BLS-certified (from a Carilion approved program) within six months of employment.
