SYSTEM ENGINEER I

Researches, implements, and supports new Information Technologies to increase server systems operational efficiencies. Manages corporate server based systems, projects, and problem resolution requiring the participation of multiple specialized teams. Job Scope: Frequently interacts with other IT teams on server system hardware and software projects. Researches, implements, and educates peers on new technologies. Coordinates and performs daily problem resolution supporting server system hardware/software issues in a fast-paced IT environment. Independent and group project work. Installs and maintains server systems; including but not limited to Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Citrix Presentation Server / XenApp, Citrix Provisioning Server, VMWare ESX, and Red Hat Linux. Additional skills include Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL, enterprise server management, and enterprise system security. Frequent lifting is required (approximately 75 lbs.). Work environment includes hospital areas, corporate data center and office settings. Must be conscience of all operational and safety procedures. Rotating shifts, including on call duties, and working weekends or irregular long hours as well as occasional overnight travel. This position is not limited to Level I if the chosen applicant's skill set and experience meets that of a higher System Engineer position. Minimum Qualifications Recommended: Education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Experience: Minimum three years experience in computer electronics and/or Windows Server system administration. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid drivers' license and dependable transportation. Minimum industry certification requirements for Level I: Microsoft MCTS with Active Directory 2003 or greater focus Microsoft MCTS with Exchange 2007 or greater focus Citrix CCA XenApp 4 for Server 2003 or greater CompTIA A+ CompTIA Linux+ CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Server+ CompTIA Security+ VMWare VCP (Higher level positions require MCIPT/MCSE, Citrix CCIA, VMWare VCP, and other high-level industry certifications.) Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral). Must have thorough understanding of the 7-layer OSI model. Active Directory, Corporate Anti-Virus technologies, Microsoft Exchange, Citrix, or similar experience preferred.
