This position is located @ Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Virginia

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for scrubbing, stripping, burnishing VCT flooring and other such surfaces. The Floor Care Specialist provides detailed housekeeping services to an assigned area and/or project area and cleans discharges and ancillary spaces as well as curtain exchange, trash and soiled linen removal. The Floor Care Specialist is expected to support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience: No experience required, but preference will be given to those applicants with prior floor care experience. On the job training provided. Previous institutional cleaning experience desirable.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must be able to read written materials. Close attention to details essential. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Must be capable of teaching both process and techniques to others. Must have the knowledge and ability to perform all types of cleaning tasks as an Environmental Tech I and II.
